Mission and Culture

We believe success is achieved through relationships built on trust, respect, and a commitment to excellence. Since 1983, we’ve forged enduring bonds with our clients, employees, and the community to deliver exceptional quality projects on time and in budget.

A Message from Our CEO

At Green Mechanical Construction, we’ve always believed that great projects are built by great people.

Since 1983, our company has grown from a local mechanical contractor into a trusted partner serving industrial, commercial, institutional, and advanced manufacturing clients across the Southeast. While our footprint has expanded, the principles that guide us have remained the same: work hard, respond quickly, do things the right way, and always keep our word.

Today, Green Mechanical is proud to be employee-owned.

That means the people designing, fabricating, installing, and servicing your mechanical systems aren’t just employees—they are owners who share in the success of our company. Every project we complete and every relationship we build contributes to a stronger future for the people who make Green Mechanical what it is.

Our mission is simple:

To achieve mechanical excellence by responding fast, building with precision, and delivering smart, cost-effective solutions—all while cultivating enduring partnerships and investing in the best people in the industry.

Whether we’re supporting a manufacturing facility, educational campus, healthcare provider, distribution center, or commercial development, our commitment remains the same: deliver exceptional results while treating every customer as a long-term partner.

We understand that our reputation is earned one project at a time. That’s why we continue to invest in technology, prefabrication, training, safety, and leadership development to ensure our clients receive the highest level of service and expertise.

Most importantly, we never forget that our success is built on people—our employees, our customers, our partners, and the communities we serve.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Green Mechanical Construction. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you.

AN AMERICAN SUCCESS STORY

Founded by Ray and Beatrice Green in 1983, Green Mechanical Construction is an American success story. Implementing a dream that began operating from a kitchen table, the business quickly advanced to a modest facility that was inadequate in a matter of months.

The Next Step

A second relocation allowed GMCI to spread its wings and soar to success. That success led to establishing a unique sheet metal shop that began fabricating state-of-the-art ductwork systems. In 1990, a second operations office was established in Lexington, giving the company a broad home base. Just a decade later, the Greens decided it was time to retire and enjoy the fruits of their labors, selling the business to Don Baker.

spirit of dedication

With a new century came a bold new dream to grow the company into a world-class mechanical company while maintaining the founders’ commitment to doing things right. That spirit of dedication, shared with our ever-growing employees as well as our customers has continued to be a hallmark of our gradual yet consistent growth for more than 35 years. While our roots are deep in the fertile soil of Kentucky, our branches have spread and allow us to serve customers in nine states with an eye to future growth.
